Dear GHAPS Families,

At last night’s special meeting, the GHAPS Board of Education voted to resume district-wide in-person learning on Monday, January 11, 2021.

Resuming in-person learning on January 11 means we will be 17 days past Christmas and 11 days past New Year’s Eve, both of which are in excess of the CDC’s 10-day quarantine period. We will continue the health and safety protocols put into place at the beginning of the school year to provide a safe teaching and learning environment for staff and students alike.

The Board’s previous decision to remain remote through January 22 was made in anticipation of predicted holiday surges. Though Ottawa County and GHAPS did experience an increase in cases immediately following Thanksgiving, the numbers quickly fell and are now more consistent with levels in October.

The Board remains committed to making data-driven decisions and will continue to work in close consultation with the Ottawa County Department of Public Health (OCDPH). Thank you, as always, for your continued patience, grace and adaptability.
