AUGUST 12, 2021
Currently, the U.S. CDC recommends that all people, regardless of vaccination status, wear face coverings in indoor, public settings in areas with “substantial” or “high” levels of community transmission of COVID-19.
As of today, August 12, 2021, Monhegan Plantation, as part of Lincoln County, is in the SUBSTANTIAL risk category.
Given the remote location and very minimal healthcare resources on Monhegan Island, the community and visitors are strongly encouraged to follow the US CDC recommendations whenever Lincoln and/or Knox County is in the “Substantial” or “High” risk category. In addition to Lincoln County, Knox County and most neighboring counties are in the Substantial risk category. Regardless of vaccination status, please wear a mask in indoor, public settings on Monhegan, in Boothbay Harbor, New Harbor, Port Clyde and elsewhere in Lincoln and Knox County.
The U.S. CDC COVID Data Tracker is available to stay up-to-date on the risk status of all counties in Maine, as well as all counties across the United States. It is updated daily by 8 pm.
Thank you for helping keep the community healthy.
