In addition to mask wearing, we continue to follow CDC COVID-19 Safe Practices: having available hand hygiene materials and ensuring adequate ventilation by opening exit doors to increase outdoor air flow (when outdoor conditions allow) and interior doors to help circulate the air throughout the church.  Propping open the exit doors before and after services provides an opportunity for a joyful and safe welcome to all worshipers.

“[To have Faith in Christ] means, of course, trying to do all that He says. There would be no sense in saying you trusted a person if you would not take his advice. Thus, if you have really handed yourself over to Him, it must follow that you are trying to obey Him. But trying in a new way, a less worried way. Not doing these things in order to be saved, but because He has begun to save you already. Not hoping to get to Heaven as a reward for your actions, but inevitably wanting to act in a certain way because a first faint gleam of Heaven is already inside you.”

We pray for Penelope, born Aug. 24, 2022 (great-granddaughter of Rosetta Bidne and great-niece of Dawn Meyer) who is facing multiples surgeries and health challenges. We give thanks to God that Penelope is at home with her family and gaining strength daily. We pray for all children & their families, especially in ABQ. We pray for all children separated from their loved ones and those who are in unsafe situations. We pray for our St Luke Preschool, students, teachers, and staff.

We pray for the St. Luke Core Team & Lutheran Family Services as they welcome an Afghan Family.
We lift up in prayer our pastors Christa & Wayne as they minister to us. (God said, “And I will give you pastors according to mine heart, which shall feed you with knowledge and understanding.” – Jeremiah 3:15)
We give thanks to God for answered prayers for Daniel, Beverly, and Ginny.

We pray for our Council and committee/ministry leaders.

For the Wider Church
We pray for Lutheran Family Services in Albuquerque; Luther House NM/CNM; Navajo Lutheran Mission in Rock Point, AZ; churches in Afghanistan; and missionaries sent by God all over the world, especially our missionaries taken captive in Haiti. We pray for the persecuted church.

We pray for ELCA missionary pastor and professor of Church History, The Rev. Carolyn Schneider, Ph.D. as she serves in Jamaica teaching at the (UTCWI) United Theological College of the West Indies (

We join with the staff of World Vision, a Christian relief organization in Afghanistan in praying for the safety of children in Afghanistan amid conflict in the country. We pray that God would bring peace to this country so that children and families might live without fear of violence. We pray for the health of Afghan children and their families; currently 40% of Afghan children suffer from malnutrition.

We pray for missionaries, so that the word of the Lord may spread rapidly and be glorified everywhere ... (praying 2 Thessalonians 3:1)
For Our Country
At this time of war and conflict we pray for all the members of the American military and foreign service in danger anywhere in the world. Allow them to accomplish their missions and come home safely to us. We pray for all those innocently caught up in the conflicts. And because our Lord Jesus commanded us to pray for our enemies and those who persecute us, we ask you, Lord to always remind us that you created them in your image, that Christ died for them, that they are beloved of God just like us, so that we might with sincerity pray, Lord have mercy on them.

We pray for our first responders, doctors/nurses and other healthcare workers and their families as they provide care and healing to those in need while facing many challenges.
