St Luke Worship Guidelines - May 20, 2021

While we are temporarily worshipping in the Fellowship Hall (due to the recent fire), the Youth room (across the hall) is available for nursing moms & infants and small children with their parents.
Also, please leave the blue zone parking spaces for church attendees who have difficulty walking. If you need assistance, please ask an usher. Thank you.

Bucket of Change       

Your donation in May will go to S.A.F.E. House which focuses on survivors of intimate partner domestic violence.
Your donation in June will go to Salvation Army which provides, in New Mexico, youth, family, and senior programs; homeless services, adult rehabilitation, disaster services, rent assistance, hot meals to firefighters while on duty at a disaster site, Christmas presents to children who do not normally get them, and more.

We may place our offerings for the BUCKET OF CHANGE in the bucket at church, send gifts directly to St. Luke via mail or contribute via our online giving resources on our church website

Vacation Bible Day Camp 2021
June 21 - 25

Theme: Taking It Down the Mountain!
Scripture verse: John 16:33
Featuring TWO options:
  • Option A: In-Person morning program (9 - 11:30 AM) at St. Luke church 9100 Menaul Blvd., ABQ 87112 for Kindergarten through 6th graders
  • Option B:  In-Person evening program (5-8 PM)  at Camino de Vida church 3907 Isleta Blvd SW, Albuquerque, NM 87105 for families of all ages - The evening program will incorporate hands-on service work on the grounds of the church, and a  "Care of Creation" ecology component.

The energetic Rainbow Trail  Counselors will soon join hands with us to present a vibrant and faith-formative day camp program for about 15 children at St. Luke in the morning and 30 or more participants at Camino de Vida in the evenings. We are excited to see how many of you will join in. With your help, children in our larger community will have a great experience this summer. Thank you for you ongoing efforts to spread the word about camp. You do make a difference!
We need YOU to work alongside our fantastic Rainbow Trail Staff and build community with us during either morning or evening program. We can't do it without you, so contact us today to help with: crafts & craft preparations, small group Bible stories, creation station, games & recreation, Covid-safety monitoring (help make sure kids and adults are following guidelines for safe interactions) and just to be a friendly helpful presence as needed!! (All Adults will be required to go through a Safe Gathering Training/Screening process). This summer, beginning on Sunday, June 13th, our three services will be: 1) in-person on Sundays at 8:15 a.m. (in the courtyard, with congregational singing), 2) 10:30 a.m. (indoors, without congregational singing and streaming, with in-home singing), and 3) on-line following the 10:30 service. All services will be based on the Now the Feast and Celebration Liturgy by Marty Haugen.

Bad Dads of the Bible

We will be "Celebrating Fathers" in June, similar to the session in May about Mothers.  Pastor Christa will have another presentation: "Good Dads & Bad Dads of the Bible," and you are encouraged to talk about and present pictures or memorabilia of the interesting men in your family.  So be looking for these and think about the interesting stories you have heard about these father figures in your families. For Those Who Mourn
We pray for preschool teacher Kathy and family on the death of her father Aristeo on May 14th; and death of Richard (Marina Mauney's friend) in May; Thank you for lifting up Aristeo and Richard in your prayers during their illnesses.
For Those Who Celebrate
We give thanks to God for Alaina Lynn, 10th great-grandchild of Ginny Fisher, born on May 24th; and for Nikoloz (Nika) Jibladze, 2nd grandson of Barb  & Terry Shirrod, born on May 20th.  Both babies are “rainbow babies.” [A rainbow baby is a baby born after  a miscarriage, still birth, or infant death, and is a special bearer of God’s hope and love.]
For Those in Need of Strength, Help, Healing, Comfort
We pray for our graduating high school youth, Lauren Hollowwa and Kaden Helmka, as they embark on the next chapter of their lives. May they continue to treasure God's Word and let it light their way. I am confident of this, that the one who began a good work among you will bring it to completion by the day of Jesus Christ. – Philippians 1:6
We pray for Charles Clark and Bonnie (cousin of Barbara Exley) who are in the hospital; Greg Hirons (regarding his health) & his wife Wendy and son Sam (from Bonnie Paine); Dennis (grandparent of one of our preschoolers) for upcoming medical procedure; Vinit & family & friends as they go through dire situations with food, work, health and COVID (Christian friends of Barb & Terry Shirrod in India);Steve for healing; Carole (daughter-in-law of Lois Sherwood); substitute postman Leo, his wife, and children; Walt McCoy, now in 24-hour care (uncle of Barbara Exley); Rosie Johnson (friend of Bev Berardinelli), her daughter Alice and friend Dede; Richard Peters & family (cousins of Daleen Olson); Pastor Julie LaHam; Ernesto (Dorela Cole's grandson); John; Joyce; Audrey, George & Millie Brewer & daughter Kristie; Bill & Mary Ann Arnold; Bonnie Paine; Bill; Roger (son of Magda Renteria).

From Bonnie Paine: "Thank you to everyone who sent cards, notes & prayed when I broke my hip and was hospitalized with complications. Now I am using a walker and hope to walk independently soon."

We pray for Lutheran Family Services in Albuquerque; Luther House NM/CNM; Navajo Lutheran Mission in Rock Point, AZ; and missionaries sent by God all over the world.  We pray for St. Luke church's shared Vacation Bible Camp 2021 with Camino de Vida church.
We pray for all Christian churches, especially St. Luke & Camino de Vida; the persecuted church; and the churches & citizens of Myanmar, that they maintain a peaceful, yet persistent, witness for the end of military rule, release of political prisoners, and the return of a freely elected government.  We pray also for the church in India as they comfort and help others in their struggle against COVID-19.
For Our Country
We pray for our veterans and their families; and for families of those who have died in service of our country. We pray for our military and government. We pray for God's will and for the preservation of our freedom & US Constitution.
