As the nation comes to terms with the death of the Queen and we collectively enter the period of mourning, the Parish Council and St Michael’s Church have come together to help Aynho commemorate the life of Her Majesty.

For the period of mourning the Union Jack with continue to fly at half-mast.

Book of Condolence
From this afternoon there will be a book of condolence available for residents to write personal messages. This is located in the church, to the right of the entrance.

The Royal Household have made an online book of condolence available for messages, at: https://www.royal.uk/send-message-condolence

Floral Tributes
Tomorrow the Parish Council will lay a wreath on behalf of the community at St Michael’s. Residents who would like to pay their own floral tribute can do so from tomorrow, in the designated space at the bottom of the flag pole. Please keep all tributes in this space only.

Ringing of the church bells
To commemorate the Queen’s 96 years the muffled bells of St Michael's will be rung 96 times today, at 1.00pm.

Church Service
There will be a service of Prayer and Reflection for the life of Her Majesty on Sunday 11-September, at 10.00am.

It is anticipated there will be other church services in the days ahead; dates and times to be confirmed.

During the next few days, as arrangements are confirmed we’ll keep you informed of how Aynho is marking the Queen’s death by email and posting notices on the village notice boards.
