Providing assistance to early-stage small businesses to succeed in a recovering New York State economy.

 

 
The program provides flexible grants to support early stage, micro and small businesses in a still recovering New York State economy. The program will ensure that small businesses that opened shortly before or during the COVID-19 pandemic will have the funds to continue to operate and grow.

Small Business and Nonprofit Assistance Program

Funds are Available!

 
The next round of St Lawrence County ARPA applications for assistance to Small Businesses and Nonprofits is now open!

Applications will be accepted until October 17th and reviewed within 30 days.

Additional rounds of applications will be announced after October 20th as long as funding remains available.

Local Business Opportunities to Embrace the Games!

 

 
Take some time to feel the spirit and get your business and community involved in hosting athletes, visitors, media and more from around the world to Canton and Potsdam for preliminary hockey games of the 2023 FISU World University Games in January 2023!

Get started here and reach out to your community leaders for more on plans to create a Festival Village!
  1. Order a complimentary Official Games Poster to display in your business.
  2. If you are a Craft Beverage Producer or bar/restaurant, sign up for the Pint Glass Scavenger Hunt.
  3. Adopt a delegation and make your business front embrace that nation!
  4. Provide incentives to be included in the volunteer packages.
  5. Restaurants can be included in the 'voucher program.'
  6. Volunteers are needed!!!
  7. Get informed, and share with your employees and guests.
  8. Follow the games and share the excitement!

FISU World University Games Information

Remington Festival

On Saturday, October 8th from 10am to 4m, SLC Arts holds the annual Remington Arts Festival Art Show and Sale. This event takes place on Canton's "Village Green," and will feature a wide variety of artists who will display their works.

This festival is a "celebration of art excellence in the North Country" as well as a celebration of Frederic Remington, who was born in Canton, NY on October 4th in 1861. Admission to the festival is free and all are welcome!

Reserve your seats now! Celebrate the accomplishments of St. Lawrence County businesses and organizations and hear about the 'State of the Chamber' for 2022.

Enjoy cocktails, appetizers, auctions, and music during Happy Hour, with a cash bar and a buffet dinner and dessert during presentations and awards!

There will be a Lucky Draw auction. Purchase a book of (25) tickets for $20.00 in advance or upon arrival. Select the items you're interested in. Winning tickets will be drawn at event!

This is a reason for people to come downtown as they are beginning their holiday shopping, so that they know what we have here before they start shopping online! Decorate windows, offer specials, bring in flannel products, distribute flannel heart stickers to customers. You can also share the event on Facebook.
