I contacted Sendiass and spoke to a lovely lady who helped me through our ongoing problems ,she was the only one to tell me that I could do EHCP .I felt that the empathy I got was very genuine and gave me the confidence to move forward I would truly recommend this service without hesitation .Its very difficult time for Parents with Send problems and its it great that you have an impartial service which can in my opinion make a very big difference.

We held our last SEND Youth Forum meeting for the year, with Christmas celebrations as the main agenda item! We were joined by seven of our members, who wore a lovely selection of Christmas jumpers, hats, and scarves!!
We congratulated Charlotte for doing a brilliant job at presenting at a recent Training event for Children’s services staff, who spoke confidently about her experience of the Forum.
We also thanked our groups magnificent contribution when they attended a recent meeting with two Ofsted Inspectors as part of their revisit to NCC, looking closely at SEND services. Our members were able to share both positive and negative experiences and provided a useful insight into some of the challenges of preparing for adulthood, as a young person with SEND.
Members confirmed who would like to participate in an upcoming trip which will provide an opportunity to meet in person for the first time, and after an on-line poll and several discussions, it has been agreed that we will organise a day out to include Bowling in Norwich and a meal!!
In a previous meeting we had sought members “top tips” for supporting young people with SEND, within education. Dawn shared an “Easy Read” document she has produced, compiling their feedback, which we hope will be added to a very lengthy document known as PEaSS (Provision Expected at SEN Support) which is used in Norfolk.
Members opted for a Christmas themed Music Quiz and were able to confidently answer all the questions correctly, and we then squeezed in a quick Christmas Treasure Hunt where a variety of wonderful Christmas themed decorations were sought and found and shared with the group!!
We all wished one another a wonderful festive period, and we look forward to getting together again in the New Year.
As always, we are keen for new members, and have lots of things planned for the coming year! If you are aged between 11 – 25 years with experience of, SEND, and want to make a difference, and/or have an interest in improving services for young people with SEND please complete the on-line Registration Form on the SENDIASS website, and we will be in touch.
