Minister's message

On Tuesday this week I turned up to the church to see a whole team of people planting our native under-story throughout the bush. It is a thrill for me to see how we care for our little part of the world here at Terrigal Uniting Church. We are leaving a legacy for future generations.

Some of the things we do are not just to benefit us, but to benefit our world and generations to come. Our faith is not just about us here and now. Jesus Christ came over 2000 years ago and that shapes our lives as Christians today.

In the Old Testament God calls Israel to be a light to the nations. At the start of John’s Gospel it says that a light shines in the darkness and the darkness cannot overcome it. We know that light is Jesus Christ shining into the world and into our lives.

May we all be a light that shines, not just at this moment, but into the world and into the future. Whether it be planting an under-story in our bush, or putting effort into celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ, we are doing our part to shine God's light into this world.

In all we do may we shine for Jesus Christ.

Blessings,
Richard

Christmas Events and Services

We have done our best this year to keep as many of our Christmas services as possible while maintaining a COVID safe environment.

While we will not be able to hold our Carols Service, we will still have our Christmas Eve and Day services, and 2 of these will be live-streamed to allow people to watch from home.

On Christmas Eve, we have changed our service times slightly, adding in an extra service to allow everyone to attend. The times will be 3pm, 5pm, 7pm and 11pm (the latter being a more reflective style of service).

This year we are asking everyone to register in advance, so please visit terrigalunitingchurch.com/register to let us know which services you plan to attend. You can also view more information about the services and events on our website.
The above postcards will be delivered to homes around the Coast this week. There are also some at church, so please feel free to take a small bundle to share with people or leave at businesses (if they're ok with that).

If you're a Facebook user, please be sure to share our posts and get the word out about Christmas at Terrigal Uniting Church this year!

Kids & Youth

At church on Sunday the kids spent time creating and building because God has put dreams in our heads and poured out his spirit upon us, and wants us to do good works with them! Joel 2:28-29
There are still spots available at our Kids and Youth Holiday Clubs! Register your kids now at terrigalunitingchurch.com/register.

Food Donations

We are asking for donations of store-bought baked goods for morning teas at the kids and youth holiday clubs. Please note, we cannot accept home made items this time due to COVID. If you can help with this, or if you are able to volunteer during the day, please email emma@terrigalunitingchurch.com

  • The opening of borders around Australia
  • The TUC on-line services & audio-visual team
  • The opportunity to hold Christmas services
  • Our Government leaders & health advisors
  • Richard and staff
We also pray for Howard Bellamy and family after the loss of Heather this week

Some additional points are listed on our prayer boards at church:

Planting Bee thanks

A big thank you to everyone who turned up for the planting Bee on Tuesday. We had 60 plants put in the ground in less than 2 hours - a very successful morning!

Operation Christmas Child

The regional co-ordinator of the OCC shoe boxes, Betty Rae, has informed us that the Central Coast collected 4500 shoe boxes this year, which is an amazing effort with the year we have had. These boxes will be going to Fiji, Cambodia & Malawi in South Africa.

We know from a small shoe box lives can be changed, in many cases the entire family and sometimes a village.

Thank you to everyone who supported this project. The total money raised through Terrigal Uniting Church was $2464.80.
If you are planning to attend one of our services this week, please register in advance via our website.

If you forget to register or don't have time, you can still attend on the day, you'll just need to sign in with the QR code or add your name to the sign-on sheet when you arrive.
