Covid Restrictions Update

The heightened Covid restrictions are still in place this weekend. This means masks still need to be worn in places of worship, and we can't sing yet. As a result we have again postponed morning tea and pizza Sunday until next weekend.

Minister's Message

This week is National Volunteers Week

I want to thank everyone who volunteers in the life our church or in our wider community. Our society could not function without the work you do.

Our church survives as a result of our volunteers doing different tasks to make us into the community that we are. I am constantly amazed at how generous and self-sacrificial people are.
I found an interesting article that quantifies how valuable volunteers are to our Australian economy. Being budget week, I thought I would share something like this:

Research by Dr Lisel O’Dwyer from Flinders University has calculated that volunteering contributes a whopping $290 billion to the Australian economy each year.

For comparison, the mining industry which is our biggest official contributor to GDP, contributed $202 billion to our economy at last estimate.

So if you are one of the people who volunteer at our church or somewhere else in society, you're worth more to the Australian economy than a coal miner (no offence to coal miners).

And in doing the work of a volunteer, you are doing a ministry of service; something Jesus Christ calls us to do.

Thanks so much.

This week we pray for...

  • People who are homeless in our society
  • Countries suffering from COVID-19 outbreaks
  • Peace in the Middle East
  • Family’s who have lost loved ones recently
  • Praise for our many volunteers – at church and in society

Some additional points are listed on our prayer boards at church:
If you have a prayer request, you can email it to, or place a note in the prayer jar (near the prayer boards) at church.

People who are homeless

Thank you for your continued support to the prayer focus.

As winter approaches we may embrace the cold nights and warm homes but there are many in our community who are not so fortunate.
This month our prayer focus is around people who are homeless and the organisations that tirelessly work to feed, clothe and provide shelter for those in need.
We pray that we will all have a heart of compassion that goes beyond prayer as we look to those who are homeless, or struggling just to make ends meet.

We pray multiplication of supplies and shelter to enable no-one to go without this winter.

We bless the organisations and volunteers that provide love and care for people who need their support.
You will hear more over the next few weeks including our guest on the 9th May from Wesley Mission.
