A Message from Richard

I always thought there would be bumps along the way as Australia moved through this pandemic, but I never thought the bump we are having now would ever be so big.

We are almost 4 weeks into a lock-down that may need to last a little longer to bring this outbreak under control. Our political leaders are working hard to keep us safe and we need to keep them in our thoughts and prayers.

The situation that we find ourselves in has become challenging for many. Please know that I, and many others, have been praying for our church family. You are not alone in lock-down, you are held in the thoughts and prayers of others and you are held in the hands of our ever-present, ever-loving God.

Our church is a community, whether we gather on Sunday morning in the church building or whether we gather virtually in front of screens - around the Central Coast and beyond. Our elders and leaders have been talking and thinking of ways to keep the people of our church connected - with each other and with God.

Over the coming weeks there are a couple of things we are going to do to try and encourage and support our community. From next Wednesday we will put out a brief mid-week devotion for support and encouragement. It will be a 5-10 minute video that we will email out each week and post to our Facebook page. There are also plans for a zoom trivia night in the second half of August. We would have put this earlier but we didn't want to compete with the Olympics (and lets face it the Olympics may give us a whole range of questions that we can ask in a trivia night!). Even if the hard lock-down has eased by then, there will still probably be restrictions on group numbers so a zoom trivia night may be a great way to go.

Some of my concerns are that people may be feeling alone or isolated and others may be feeling overwhelmed with home-schooling or working from home. I also know there are some in our community whose work has been suspended, and there are financial implications to this lock-down. If you are in hardship because of the lock-down, please let us know as there may be ways we can support you - for example, with phone calls for those who are lonely or with food or minor financial assistance for those in need.

As a church we want to do the best we can to support and encourage our brothers and sisters in Christ. Please fill in the quick check-in form below so we know you're ok, and feel free to communicate with us as a part of your support network.

Our Sunday worship will continue to be live-streamed each week. Please send in your photos for the birthday toolbox, and when we return I will make sure there is a big supply of lollies for those who have become fully vaccinated through this lock-down.

Please always remember that myself (0408 427 880) or Jan (0402 088 408) or Emma (0410 171 709) are always open to talking with you. If we are not available when you call, please leave a message and we will get back to you.
Isaiah 41:10
“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand."
Holding you all in my thoughts and prayers.
Keep safe my friends.
