Christmas Events and Services

We have done our best this year to keep as many of our Christmas services as possible while maintaining a COVID safe environment.

While we will not be able to hold our Carols Service, we will still have our Christmas Eve and Day services, and 2 of those will be live-streamed to allow people to watch from home.

On Christmas Eve, we have changed our service times slightly, adding in an extra service to allow everyone to attend. The times will be 3pm, 5pm, 7pm and 11pm (the latter being a more reflective style of service).

This year we are asking everyone to register in advance, so please visit to let us know which services you plan to attend. You can also view more information about the services and events on our website.
The above postcards will be delivered to homes around the Coast this week. There are also some at church, so please feel free to take a small bundle to share with people or leave at businesses (if they're ok with that).

If you're a Facebook user, please be sure to share our posts and get the word out about Christmas at Terrigal Uniting Church this year!

Minister's message

Someone reminded me this week that advent is not just a countdown to Christmas. Advent is a time of looking forward to the coming of Jesus Christ - both the coming of Jesus at Christmas and the future hope of Jesus Christ coming again.

There is a balancing act in Advent of excitement, hope, anticipation and longing.

Dietrich Bonhoeffer once said “The celebration of Advent is possible only to those who are troubled in soul, who know themselves to be poor and imperfect, and who look forward to something greater to come”

Although I think there is room in Advent for us all to celebrate, it is helpful to expand our thinking beyond Advent being just a calender or a wreath counting down to Christmas day. It is the anticipation of a Saviour coming both 2000 years ago and again in the future. In advent we look to the future and we look to the past, seeking a Saviour that transforms the world.

Come Lord Jesus.

Upcoming Events

There is so much that we need to be praying about at present, along with bringing hope to our community this Christmas.

So as we lead up to Christmas, we invite you to join us for a Prayer and Fasting time at Terrigal Uniting Church: Saturday 12th December 11.30am – 1.30pm.

The idea is to go without lunch, if you are able, and spend time with God. There is plenty of space at the church and surrounding area to be Covid safe.

Fasting is mentioned throughout the Bible and and it is a time where we forgo something natural, to spend time with the supernatural. Many spiritual breakthroughs have come from prayer and fasting, it helps with our spiritual strength as well as strengthens our prayers.

If you are unable or hesitant to come to the church, then we encourage you to do this from home. For those who can, we’d love to see you at the church. No food, but please bring your own water bottle.

You will need to sign in on the day, but no need to register ahead of time.
For more information please contact

Some additional points are listed on our prayer boards at church:

Repair Cafe

Early next year, our church will be launching a Repair Cafe. If you missed the explanatory video last Sunday, you can view it here.
We will need many volunteers with all sorts of skills to help with this initiative. As well as people who can actually repair objects, we will need helpers to set up, pack up, help in the kitchen and assist in various other ways.

If you would like to help, please complete this online form, or pick up a form from the church office.
