Minister's Message

God is with us

God is with us! When we hear those words, we can so easily not think about what that really means.

Some people think of it as a theory or an idea. But this Sunday is Pentecost Sunday. This Sunday is meant to remind us that God being with us is not just an is a reality!

When Jesus ascended (Mark 16:19-20) he did not leave us disconnected from God. We do not pray to God who is far away or God who is up in heaven. We pray to God who is with us.

The Holy Spirit is here in our lives.
The Holy Spirit is God closer to us than our next breath.
The Spirit is God empowering us. God giving us gifts.
The Spirit is God.
God with us.

Exciting Announcement!

Claire and Steve Earp have welcomed their beautiful new daughter, Ava Grace Earp, into the world! Here is a message from Steve:

We would like to introduce you all to ❤️ Ava Grace Earp ❤️, born Thursday 28th May at 5.52pm weighing 2.93kg (6.4 pounds) - our big and beautiful girl is of perfect health, and is going so well.

Claire was absolutely amazing and will be recovering for a little while yet (to be expected). Her big brother is so over the moon and smitten by her, and is very keen to meet her in the coming days.

We are so grateful to God for this smooth pregnancy and delivery, the health of both the girls and the calm that we are currently bathing in! Fantastic team at Gosford Private Maternity Services and Intuition Private Obstetrics & Gynaecology as well, giving us loads of confidence, humour and comfort.

Claire, Annabelle, Malakai and I are very much in love with Ava - so good to have you with us, my girl! 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦

A massive congratulations from your church family - and a big shout out to the amazing Claire, who continued to work right up until the day Ava was born!

Admin Position

A big welcome to Deb Callendar, who will be taking on Claire's role while she is on maternity leave - most likely until early next year.

Deb will be monitoring both Claire's email and the admin email, so you can continue to use the same email addresses that you have been for any general correspondence to the church.

All the best Deb, we look forward to having you on staff!

Congregational Bible Study

Over the coming month, our church will participate in a whole-of-church Bible study, looking at the Book of Job. There are a couple of ways you can be a part of this:

Firstly, be sure to join our online services each week, as Richard will be exploring the book in his sermons. There will be an opportunity to discuss the themes raised in these sermons in the Zoom chats on Sunday.

Secondly, Lesley Earp and Sue Braund, two of our Elders, have written a Bible Study that can be completed within your small groups or individually. This is available as a booklet that you can print or complete electronically. You can also request a printed copy from the church for a $5 donation.

Here are the links to the study if you would like to complete it electronically or print it at home:
Make sure to save copy on your computer

Extra Bible Study Groups

For those who do not have a small-group and would like to complete the Job study in a group, there are two special Zoom sessions being run throughout June. These will be:
Monday 9:30am-10:30am (led by Sue Braund and Noel Mansfield)
Wednesday 7:30pm-8:30pm (led by Richard Harris)
If you would like to join one of these groups please email

We are encouraging you to read through Job prior to completing the study. This is a large text, and if you would prefer to listen to it rather than read it, there a some free audiobooks available on Youtube.

This is a dramatised version that goes for 1 hour 45 minutes:
