Minister's message

About a month ago I was listening to an article on the radio that said if America's blind spot is gun law reform, Australia’s blind spot is Gambling law reform.

In NSW alone between June and November last year, $2.17 billion was lost to poker machines at clubs across the state. That does not include online Gambling or revenue from casinos (which we allow to take up some of the best shoreline of Sydney Harbour at Barangaroo!).

As a state we are addicted to the taxes that come from gambling and as a nation we are not brave enough to tackle the law reform that is needed. People are trapped in poverty cycles because of the addictive nature of gambling.

There is a video that is a conversation between Rev Keith Garner (retired head of Wesley Mission), Rev Tim Costello (head of the Alliance for Gambling Reform) and Rev Simon Hanford (Moderator of the NSW/ACT Synod). This video is very helpful in opening our eyes to some of the issues around gambling in Australia.

As Christians, we need to work against the damage that Gambling has in our society and work towards making our Nation more Christ like.

Have a look at the video, it's worth watching:

Easter at TUC

We’d love you to join us on Saturday 20th March from 2pm-4pm at TUC for a prayer time prior to Easter.

Pray on your own in or around the church, or in the company of others in the worship centre. Come for all or part of the time.
We will be praying for all the Easter services and that the message of Easter reaches our community.
There is no need to register, just sign in on the day.
For more information contact Anne & Arthur Hand:

This week we praise God and pray for...

  • Kylie and Seang in Cambodia
  • Scripture in schools
  • Elders and church council
  • People seeking employment

Some additional points are listed on our prayer boards at church:

Upcoming events

We're looking for volunteers to empty the compost bins from now until the end of the year. It involves walking 2 bins up to the compost bin (which is located up the hill near the multipurpose hall) once a week. If you can help with this please let Richard or Barry Earp know.

Coffee Cups

Did you know Erina Fair has special bins where you can recycle your coffee cups. They are located outside the major supermarkets, so it's easy to collect your cups throughout the week and drop them off when you do your shopping.

Kids and Youth

We meet for worship each week at the following times:

Sunday 8am (Traditional with hymns) | Sunday 9:45am (Family worship)
Sunday 6pm (Contemporary) | Tuesday 11am (Traditional with hymns)

You are welcome to attend any service that suits you.

Upcoming Readings

Sunday 7th March
