Minister's Message

This week we are starting the whole-of-church bible study, where we are exploring the big question of how our loyalties lie with God as well as this world and how we can be citizens of two places; heaven and earth. The four week study will be a very challenging one, but will be an excellent way to explore how we live out our faith in real and practical ways.

Through the Covid-19 pandemic, there have been incredibly challenging situations for all of us. One of them is how we keep ourselves safe but still care for others around the world who are doing it tough. Our faith calls us to compassion, but our nation also needs to protect its borders. It is moments like these where we really need to think about how we live out our faith. How do our Christian values shape what we do? What is the living Spirit of God calling us to do and to be?

We need to pray for the leadership of our nation and of each state; that in the midst of all the competing voices they hear God's voice. We need to pray that God's voice will be there and that our leaders will hear and follow that voice of God. For the last 18 months I have been constantly thankful to God for the way we have been kept relatively safe compared to many other nations around the world. I am proud of our nation for all it has done. I am also a citizen of God's kingdom in the midst of all this. What do I do to follow God's call? How do I live out God's call to compassion? I don’t know the answers, but I am sure the scriptures and the Spirit of God can guide us.

To step into faith just takes belief, but to apply our faith to every moment of our lives - now that is a challenge. But it is a challenge worth doing.

The Repair Cafe is open again this Saturday (28th May). Please share the event and come along between 10am-1pm (even if it's just for a coffee)!

People who are homeless

Thank you for your continued support to the prayer focus.

As winter approaches we may embrace the cold nights and warm homes but there are many in our community who are not so fortunate.
This month our prayer focus is around people who are homeless and the organisations that tirelessly work to feed, clothe and provide shelter for those in need.
We pray that we will all have a heart of compassion that goes beyond prayer as we look to those who are homeless, or struggling just to make ends meet.

We pray multiplication of supplies and shelter to enable no-one to go without this winter.

We bless the organisations and volunteers that provide love and care for people who need their support.
