Readers using the CEnet ACEN Overdrive ebook library now have access to popular titles that are available anytime with no waiting.
Responding to requests from teachers and students, the ACEN consortium has recently purchased a collection of quality simultaneous use ebook and audiobook titles for use by readers in the SORA ebook platform.
Simultaneous use titles mean that readers can rely on these titles to be available anytime with no holds required. For teachers, they can utilise books in this collection to integrate into teaching and reading programs and activities, knowing that the books are always available. For students, they can enjoy reading from this collection of books immediately with no waiting.
This new collection in the ACEN SORA consortium is aptly called 'Always Available' and there are over 100 quality titles, including many great Australian titles, picture books and information texts.
The 'Always Available' collection has already had over 1500 loans from diocesan students and staff in its first week of availability.
Catholic Learning Online Events is an initiative of the CEnet eLearning Working Group, that aims to identify and support areas of common need for professional learning in CEnet member dioceses.

A sample of the comments from participants in the Lucid Education event:
”The resources and tools shown were valuable and I can't wait to use them in the classroom. The presenters were very clear in their delivery and I thought it was really worthwhile PD.”
"I'm grateful for the opportunity. I'd love the video link to be sent so we can refer to it again."

At the request of the CEnet eLearning Working Group, a briefing was recently provided on the CEnet Okta service and how it may be used to support learning and teaching.
Okta is the access management service provided by CEnet. While the service 'works in the background' to provide a single sign-on experience, it also provides a customisable launch page for every user, displaying applications available to them in their role as a student, teacher or staff member.
