Destructive Cyclone Idai Rings 'Alarm Bell' on Climate Change:
IOM Partners with Fair Labor Association to Promote Ethical Recruitment, Protect Migrant Workers
– IOM is appealing for USD 36.4 million for the next six months, to respond to the humanitarian needs of an estimated 1.85 million people affected by Cyclone Idai in Mozambique.
– Cyclone Idai impact creates “massive humanitarian emergency”, IOM says.
– Over 92,600 Afghan refugees have returned from neighbors Pakistan and Iran since January, according to IOM.
– Relocating individuals that are displaced due to the impacts of climate change is not an issue; however, their integration into a new country can be, says ILO.
