Greetings from Santa Barbara, California!
We have been at Rancho Oso, which is a Thousand Trails park, for 10 glorious days. We absolutely love this place. Santa Barbara has always been one of our favorite cities, but it is even more so now that we’ve discovered Rancho Oso.
Why We Love This RV Park
Rancho Oso is a working ranch and RV park on 310 acres in the gorgeous hills of Santa Barbara, about 30 minutes inland from the beach. Last week was spring break here, so the RV park had additional activities for kids all week, which Casen and Calista absolutely loved. There were hikes, art classes and games (including candy bar bingo which is a favorite) and everything was free for anyone staying in the park.
We got to learn about all the animals here as well as pet and feed them. One of the kids favorite things was meeting the 2 week old colt that was recently born!
In addition to enjoying the ranch, we’ve been loving the great beaches and the beautiful cities of Santa Barbara, Ventura, and Solvang.
I’ll be writing a full article with pictures included about every activity we enjoyed here and more info on the incredible RV park!
We’re so excited to be heading up the west coast and exploring more of this gorgeous part of the country.
Aaron and I drove from LA to San Fransisco several years ago on the 101 and I was completely blown away by the beauty of the scenic drive. I’m so excited for the kids to experience it for the first time!
We continue to meet new friends on the road (and reconnect with old ones!) all the time, which is one of our favorite parts of traveling full time. We’re connecting with others, hearing their stories, becoming a part of their lives and building relationships that will last a lifetime! We will be reconnecting with some of these families at Lake Tahoe soon, and can’t wait for that time together.
If you ever have any questions about living full time in an RV or what life on the road is like, feel free to hit “reply” and just ask!
We love sharing our experiences and hope to encourage others who are considering becoming full time RVers to take the leap!
