We meet twice a week. For the safety and comfort of all our members, we currently only meet through Zoom.

Tuesdays with a Twist!
7:00 pm
Tuesdays are totally informal. We socialize, brainstorm, and get some words down on the page with timed writing sprints.

Thursday Gatherings
7:00 pm
For the month of October, we'll be diving into our Character Arc Workshop on Thursday nights.

Email us for the links. We sure would love to see you!

Special Events

Are you ready to dive deep into character arcs? I know I am! The month of October is all about the Carrollton League of Writers Character Arc Workshop! Each and every Thursday night Jen Crippen and Jessica Torres will be teaching us from the Creating Character Arcs Workbook by K.M. Weiland. You can pick your copy up here, if you'd like, but it's totally optional. The author has a treasure trove of resources for free on her website that can help you follow along. So choose a character from your imagination that you'd like to focus on for the workshop and keep an eye on your email for the Zoom link. We'll see you there!
Looking to add to your book collection? The Carrollton Public Library at Hebron and Josey is having a book sale! The presale starts October 6 for Friends of the Library members, and the sale will run October 7-9. For more information, click here.
This Halloween season has a bounty of fun activities to warm your heart and make you smile on those cool autumn nights. The church where we gather in person, Carrollton Church of the Nazarene, is hosting their annual Fall Fest on October 31 from 5:00 to 8:30 pm. If you'd like more information about this free event, check out their website.

If you're like me and you enjoy a good scary story, you're in for a treat! The Dallas Storytelling Guild is presenting Ghost Tales on Saturday, October 30, 7:30 pm at the Granville Arts Center 300 N Fifth Street, Garland, TX 75040. This event is donation only, and it's not for the faint of heart or children under 12.

Do you like the darker side of Halloween? It's my favorite part! House of Spirits is offering a Haunted Cocktail Soiree where you get to roam a haunted mansion and solve a mystery. This event is 21 and up, and ticket prices range $55-$77. Click here for more information.
Happy Halloween from all of us here at Carrollton League of Writers! We hope you have a fun and safe holiday!
