People at the Heart of Hospice
What makes VNA of Northwest Indiana special? The dedicated staff and volunteers who greet each day and each patient with kindness and compassion. Grace, the daughter-in-law of a former VNA Hospice patient, Linda, wrote to tell us how much the caring staff meant to her family.
"Tabitha, Linda's home health aide, was so gentle, caring, and understanding in her care for my mother-in-law. She listened to the family.... I didn't get to work with Tabitha long, but got to see her big, beautiful heart. Linda loved having Tabitha. She looked forward to her coming. Toward the end, Linda couldn't speak, but she had me call VNA to say that Tabitha was gentle, caring, and she truly listened. This was a BIG deal to have her. Thank you from the bottom of my heart to Tabitha. From me, my family. and, most importantly, Linda."
VNA Hospice was also privileged to care for Linda's parents. Before she passed away, Linda recruited her niece, daughter-in-law, grandkids, and great-nephews to participate in the Stroll for Hospice in memory of her parents. Grace adds, "I plan on continuing supporting VNA and people like Ms. Tabitha. I just had to find a way to say thank you."
