VNA Meals on Wheels Keeps Seniors Safe

Throughout the stay-at-home order, VNA Meals on Wheels volunteers have helped deliver hot lunch and dinner every weekday to about 200 seniors. Are you or a family member in a high-risk population? To stay safe and well-fed during the coronavirus outbreak, contact us about our Meals on Wheels program.

At-Home Volunteer Opportunities

Looking for something to do at home? Simple gestures of companionship, like sending a card in the mail, can help brighten the day of seniors who may feel isolated during the stay-at-home order. The Friend 2 Friend program invites families and children to send handmade cards to the address listed below. We’ll deliver them safely to seniors who might be feeling lonely.

Stroll for Hospice Goes Virtual

We can tell by the way you use your walk...that you’re still keeping fit throughout the stay-at-home order. Join us for a virtual Stroll for Hospice! Supporting compassionate, nonprofit hospice care in your community is as easy as taking a stroll around your neighborhood.

Through natural disasters, industrial exodus, and socio-economic divides, our community has endured. We have the ability to overlook all that divides us and come together and rally when called to do so.

Once again, in the face of COVID-19, a disease that knows no boundaries and doesn’t care about race, riches or politics, I am confident that our system of nonprofits, strong local legislators and cities, churches and civic organizations will find a way to get aligned and work together to lift us through this.

Your VNA of Northwest Indiana has been here for 50 years supporting families and thousands of people who need our compassionate care in the most critical times. We’ll continue to be there for you as you’ve been there for us. Through blizzards, floods, and pandemics. Together we’ll take care of each other and make our best days possible once again.
