I was driving east to go to an outreach we had planned at Penn Highlands Community College and then meet with some student leaders at Saint Francis University, when I got a call from a former student. Sabrina (who had graduated IUP a couple of years ago) called me, enthusiastically telling me about a younger girl at church who had asked Sabrina to disciple her. Sabrina talked about how excited she was to disciple this girl and how she felt prepared because of her experience with IUP Cru, As I talked on the phone with Sabrina, while driving to the two campuses, I realized what a beautiful picture the Lord had given me of our prayer, hope, and vision for Cru. At Cru we want to win, build, and send students in the Gospel. I was headed to Penn Highlands to meet with students and share God’s love with them (win). Then I was headed to SFU to get to meet with student leaders and encourage them (build). All the while, I was talking on the phone with a former student who had graduated two years ago, talking about about how God had prepared her for this moment through IUP Cru (send). What a beautiful reminder from the Lord. Thank you for partnering with me to win, build, and send students!
