“Clearly God is doing something, and we’re coming in behind Him - which is a great place to be” ~ Chris West
About six months ago, I wrote you a letter about how God was moving in BIG ways on Penn Highlands’ campus. I wrote about how He rose up students and faculty who wanted to see their campus reached for Christ and wanted to start a Cru movement to do it. Now it seems like God is doing it again. Not one, not two, but THREE students (independently of each other) at Seton Hill (a college in southwest PA) reached out to start a Cru movement at their college. In a recent meeting, Christ West (a Cru staff person who helps students start movements on their campus) connected with us to talk about next steps. Chris' job is to connect with students on campuses in multiple regions and long-distance coach them to start a movement and then connect the local field staff (in this case me and Phil) to the campus. As Chris expressed, it is clear God is working at Seton Hill and I am so excited for us (including you) to join in on what He is already doing!
This does mean things may look a little different for me this upcoming year. To clarify (because I often write about IUP). I don’t just work for IUP Cru, I work for Southwest Pennsylvania Cru. My boss and I (with the Lord) have at least 12 campuses that we are responsible for. Currently we are on three (Indiana University of Pennsylvania, Penn Highlands Community College, and Saint Francis University), going on four (Seton Hill).
Please pray for me as I seek the Lord to discern what my involvement and time on each campus will look like. While I am excited to reach new campuses (especially ones like Penn Highlands and Seton Hill, that have only one or no other christian movements), I want to remain a good steward of our students on our other campuses with more established movements (IUP and Saint Francis University). Please pray for me as I seek the Lord with all of this and trust Him to do what only He can do. As a good friend reminded me - “I am limited, but God is not”.
