Last Monday, armed with bags of candy and flyers, PSU Altoona Cru students, Phil (my boss), and I canvased campus inviting anyone we met to Bible study. We ran into Wendy* (a student who recently moved from China) and after a brief convo (maybe 30 seconds), we handed her a sticker and she went on her way. It didn’t seem like anything would come of that convo, so you can imagine my surprise when at 5:30 she walked into the student center and asked, “Is this where the Bible study is meeting?” For the next 60 minutes we studied God’s Word together. When we talked about John 5:24 “Very truly I tell you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be judged but has crossed over from death to life,” (Jesus speaking) it was clear that Wendy* was eager to learn more. Even though I had to leave after the study (I had another Bible study at SFU), Alexis and a couple other students stayed after and talked with her. Later that evening, I got a text from Alexis. “We got to talk to Wendy* and give her a Bible. It was one of the best moments!” It was so encouraging to see Wendy’s* desire to learn and Alexis’ desire to share. Please pray that Wendy* continues to come to Bible study and that we can continue to share the hope of Jesus with her!
Love,
Rachel
