Dear St. John Bosco High School Community,

I am pleased to inform you the search for a new principal is concluded. With the approval of the Salesian Members of the Corporation and the Board of Directors, I would like to introduce Dr. Kris Anderson as the next Principal of St. John Bosco High School!

Kris has a deep understanding of, and affinity for, Catholic education. As an alumnus of St. John Bosco, class of 2004, he fully embraces our Salesian model, charism and family spirit, an essential component of who we are as a Salesian community. Kris holds bachelor’s degree from the University of Idaho, as well as, a master’s and doctoral degree from Loyola Marymount University. With over 12 years of experience in Catholic education, Kris is not new to an administrative role having served three years as Vice Principal and most recently Interim Principal at St. Mary’s Academy. Kris comes to our St. John Bosco High School community as an organized and effective leader with classroom and administrative experience combined with a strong and active Catholic faith.

"As an alum (Class of 2004), I am honored and humbled to be coming back home to serve as Principal at St. John Bosco High School. This community has played an integral role in my development as a person of faith and an educator. I am looking forward to working with students, families, and the SJB Faculty and Staff to ensure a timely student-centered experience is at the forefront of all we do while holding true to the timeless Salesian traditions that have made St. John Bosco High School the college preparatory choice for young men for over 80 years."

Together with our current leadership team, Kris is fully committed, as am I, to partnering with the faculty and consulting with parents build upon the strengths of St. John Bosco High School and its mission in forming young men to be “good Christians and honest citizens.”

I would like to thank all of the students, parents, faculty, staff, board members, and Salesians who participated in the search process, especially for their time, dedication and wisdom. Thank you for all your prayers during this process. Also a personal note of gratitude to Mr. Adan Jaramillo who has served in these past few months as interim Principal. I will work with Adan, Kris, and the rest of our leadership team in a smooth transition.

Please join me in welcoming Kris to St. John Bosco High School!

Dr. Brian Wickstrom
President

Dr. Kris Anderson has been named Principal of St. John Bosco High School.

Good Afternoon,

What an amazing end of the school year! From athletic competitions, theater productions, rallies, Kairos, to academic celebrations. Overall, a historic end to the school year.  This weekend we celebrated a beautiful graduation for our seniors! A special congratulations to the entire class and their parents for accomplishing a major milestone. That being said, we welcome the Class of 2021 into our amazing group of Alumni. We pray that their new journey in life provides them with countless opportunities and blessings!

In May of 1884, Don Bosco wrote a special message to all Salesian Educators. In this special message he wrote, “It is not enough that you love the young, they must know that they are loved.” This message has transcended for years and resonates strongly with all staff within our Salesian community. Don Bosco always practiced a preventive approach to educating the young, a place of friendship, recreation, and relationship. As we close out the school year, our entire school community did just that. We entered a pandemic that not only challenged our well-being and affected our health, but also forced us to reflect on the traditions and ideas we’ve held as normal, in pursuit of a more innovative and inclusive society. At Bosco, we continue to meet the young where they are, and find avenues, opportunities, and methods of teaching and learning that reflect the diverse voices of all our students.

In the midst of the pandemic, our students showed us what it meant to keep going, their energy, and their ambition to continue was evident. It was their resilience. Let it be known, that as a school even in the height of the pandemic, we never stopped. Our teachers continued to work, we started online, and even to the day we transitioned to in-person learning. Our staff worked tirelessly to keep our doors open. Our coaches never skipped a day of planning to prepare for the day we returned and rocked all their seasons. Our parents didn’t lose hope, and all of our students never stopped grinding. Our school never closed. We didn’t have to re-open what was already in progress. Through the resilience of our entire SJB family, we continued the mission of Don Bosco.

It has been an honor and privilege to serve the entire SJB Community this school year alongside our amazing Leadership team and our incredible teachers. Thank you for your continued support and trust.

On behalf of St. John Bosco High School,  I want to wish all our families, alumni, staff, incoming Class of 2025, and our teachers a safe and blessed summer!

God Bless.

In the spirit of Don Bosco,

Adan Jaramillo’04

Bosco Football Golf Classic

The 2021 Bosco Football Golf Classic, the signature fundraising event for our National Championship Football Program will return this summer in a more traditional tournament format; however we will still provide a safe playing environment for our participants and guests.

Last year we made the decision to re-brand the event by separating the Champions Dinner from the Golf Classic. This newly constructed format was highly effective and allowed us to reach a whole new audience of potential benefactors. So, back by popular demand, the 2021 Bosco Football Golf Classic is set!
