SEPTEMBER 2021

Dear Friend

Eswatini is in the middle of a 3rd covid 19 wave! The number of infections are higher than the second wave and medical facilities and healthcare workers are overwhelmed with the number of patients needing medical care. Please pray for our frontline workers and for healing.

At the end of August we were blessed to have covid vaccinations administered at the Bulembu clinic. Thankfully more than 60% of our employees have now been vaccinated. Please continue to pray for protection against covid and for the covid patients in Bulembu to make a full recovery.

Our Form 3, Form 5 and Grade 7 students were able to return to school in August! Throughout a third wave of covid infections that has swept through the country, schools have been closed. However, as infection numbers are coming down and more vaccines are being rolled out across the country, we're thankful that schools are slowly being reopened again. Please pray for our children and teachers as they resume in-class learning and find their rhythm again.

RUNNING FOR A REASON

 New shoes for Bulembu Children
We have runners in both the LIVE and Virtual London Marathon!

We are excited to announce that not only do we have a runner (Cathy Bishop) in the Live Virgin Money London Marathon which takes place on 3rd October but we also have two of our young adults in Bulembu (Sbongseni and Innocent) who will be running in the Virtual London Marathon to raise money to buy shoes for all their brothers and sisters.
PLEASE SPONSOR THEM TO HELP THEM ACHIEVE THEIR GOAL TO BUY NEW SHOWS FOR ALL THE CHILDREN IN OUR CARE.

It will be a tough run given how hilly it is in Bulembu with lots of rough terrain.

FUNDED BY YOU
In addition to child sponsorship, with your help since June we have been able to send money for the following:  3 months supply of bulk food, essential exam fees, some more wifi access points, ink cartridges for the school printer, a laminator in Bulembu and a perimeter fence around the children's home in Hawane.

Thank you for all your generous donations which enable us to carry on with providing for all the children in our care.

Lindelwa arrived in Bulembu in 2009 and she graduated high school in 2018. She currently has her own hair salon business in Bulembu and has just completed a certificate in beauty care. We are very excited to see Lindelwa living out her potential and achieving her lifelong dreams.
We are blessed to introduce you to two of our newest family members. We welcomed them in May and they have been settling in with their Bulembu siblings in Dvudvuzi. One of their names translates into "God arranged it", which reminds us anew of the amazing privilege we are afforded to care for children like them.
Some of you will have seen George performing with the Bulembu Choir on tour in 2019.  He is 17 years old, has a real passion for design and his dream is to become an industrial designer specializing in cars. He has been harnessing his passion by drawing designs of luxury cars. He has been developing his drawing skills over the years and has shared his passion by teaching his siblings how to make these luxury wire cars too. Here is just one of the designs he has been busy with - he even made a wire car prototype to go with it!
Two of our young adults - Zinhle and Dora - recently completed a month-long foundational course in Counselling through the Eswatini College of Theology. They obtained certificates for the course, which included modules for Trauma Counseling, Grief and Loss, and Crisis Counseling. We are so proud of their achievement!

Raising leaders...Malibongwe Zwane came to Bulembu in 2009. After graduating from high school in 2018 he started interning in the agriculture department. He is now interning at the Bulembu Community Church and studying a diploma in theology through the International School Of Ministry. "I would like to be a pastor who reaches places, and preaches the Gospel of Christ."
Lindokuhle Jele came to Bulembu in 2008. After graduating from high school in 2016 she started interning at the primary school. She completed her diploma in Sales and Marketing Management through AMADI in Eswatini and is currently working in Bulembu Administration. "I would like to start my own business one day and help young people pursue their dreams."
Bongiswa Dlamini came to Bulembu in 2009. He graduated from high school in 2017 and is pursuing a career in teaching. He has just completed his diploma in primary school education at the Ngwane Teachers College and would like to get his doctorate in education and become a lecturer one day. "If you work hard and have self-discipline you will achieve your goals."
Invested Love - a mentorship program for our senior girls and young adult ladies - had a ‘Day of Coaching’ . Life and business coach, Bridget Farrell, shared with the ladies as they looked at goal setting, purpose and intentionally reflecting on direction under the subject 'My Best Year Yet."
Being a good steward is a biblical principle that has been encouraged throughout the ministry. We were blessed to have Odete, from Potter's Wheel Church offer financial freedom training to our young adults and form five students. Not only did she teach on biblical principles around finances but also shared on budgeting and investing.
BABIES

"We can not all do great things, but we can do small things with great love, and together we can do something wonderful" - Mother Teresa.

We are blessed to introduce you to the youngest member of our family. She is 6 weeks old and starting to thrive on the love and care from the caregivers at the Baby Home.

This little boy has been in our care for just over a year now and he absolutely loves lying on his back and pushing himself up. The caregivers know that when he comes to playtime, he's going to be practising his gymnastic move!
You can be a part of the transformation God is bringing about in his life and nearly 370 other children in our care. Please consider sponsoring a child and become a part of the story of hope that God is writing through the life of each child here. Click here for more information.
