Who are the people in your life reaching out for God?

Sunday we looked in Acts 17 and saw how God has given each one of us time and space to reach out— almost as if we were groping in the dark— for God.

And, best of all, we saw that God is near and wants to be found! Jesus is reaching out for us and knows right where to find us.

How might you take the time and space God has given to reach out to those people in your life who are searching? It has never been easier to invite someone to come to church with you- now all they have to do is hop on our Sunday Livestream!

Speaking of Sunday, after church this week will feature "talk story" time in lieu of a potluck. Robbie will send out a zoom link on Friday, and you can click on it, or even dial in on your landline (if you call on a landline you won't be able to see us but you will be able to hear and talk with others.) Bonus points if you bring a pet or a snack with you. Just don't get confused which is which!

God Conversations...

This past week was a hard one for our kids, particularly our youngest. It was his last week in school, and he struggled with missing his friends and not having the closure of saying goodbye to them and his teacher in person. There were a lot of big feelings expressed by him and a lot of crying (from some of the adults in our family, too!)

Our denomination, the Evangelical Covenant Church, has developed a simple way of nurturing "God Conversations" with the children in your life.

Much like the ancient prayer practice of examen, these questions are simple and designed for reminding us of God's constant presence, (even when it feels like God is "ignoring" us), as well as training our hearts to be attentive to God. Although this resource is designed for conversations with children, it's great for people of any age!

As the stress of stay-at-home orders continue and the full effects of this virus still remain to be seen, remember that children can carry a lot of stress and grief, too. Let's take the opportunities we can each day to help our kids process their losses and draw closer to God.
