Welcome New Executive Director Matt Schanadore to MPO

The Mandan Progress Organization board of directors has selected Matt Schanandore as its new executive director.

A Mandan native, Schanandore will oversee the MPO’s events and operations with the goal of enhancing Mandan's business climate and generating increased community pride.

Schanandore, a MBA graduate of the University of Mary, most recently was the Assistant Park Manager at the Fort Abraham Lincoln State Park where he planned and facilitated monthly activities and seasonal attractions, acted as a liaison between the park and community partners, hired and managed long-term and seasonal staff, oversaw retail operations, and worked with the state parks’ leadership team to implement policies and procedures.

Schanandore will begin working full time at the MPO on Jan. 10, 2022. We are thrilled to have Matt guiding the organization, and look forward to good things to come!

Last Call for Candy Caravan Participation

Additional Committee Members Sought for Art in the Park

The Mandan Progress Organization’s Art in the Park Committee is seeking additional members to help plan and oversee activities during the Fourth of July festivities.

The committee will resume meetings at the beginning of the year. Meetings are held the second Wednesday of the month at 6 p.m. at the MPO office, 411 W Main St. Member responsibilities include:
  • Overseeing arts and crafts booths by designating locations and insuring each booth is following guidelines regarding the display and sales of items;
  • Overseeing food booths by designating locations and insuring guidelines for the display and sale food items are being followed;
  • Securing entertainment; and
  • Overall supportive activities such as obtaining security, coordination, etc.
The time commitment is minimal, but does requiring additional time in the days leading up to and during the two-day event.

Art in the Park has been a part of Mandan’s Independence Day celebration for decades. Many members who have served a number of years on the committee have retired, and realize the need for newer, younger members to carry on the tradition.

Call 751-2983 or email Laura Duppong for more information or to sign up as a committee member.

In this perspective-altering book, the world-renowned Pitbull of Personal Development, Larry Winget, exposes the things you are doing right now to unknowingly prevent your own success in the most important areas of your life: business, family, health, parenting, money, and more – and offers you his self-proven action plan for change.” Check out your copy today by stopping by the library located at 609 W Main Street or reserve it online at www.cityofmandan.com/library.
