October 2019: BBV Updates

Bold Brain Ventures has been busy this fall with investments, meetings, and the formation of new partnerships.

As noted previously, the managing partners of Bold Brain Ventures (BBV) have personally invested in several startups. The most recent investment was made in September 2019 in Koios Medical.

In a recap of other news, we have entered into a strategic partnership with Google, and we are looking forward to exhibiting again at RSNA this year.

Bold Brain Ventures
Robin, Tom, Paige, and Ben

Dr. Robin Prasad and Dr. Tomislav Deur, the co-founders and managing partners of Bold Brain Ventures, have made a personal investment in Koios Medical.

Koios is a developer of an ultrasound image analysis software platform designed to offer decision support for cancer diagnosis. The company's platform uses artificial intelligence and machine learning to provide a system which is trained on hundreds of thousands of images combined with data from pathology results, enabling healthcare institutions to detect and diagnose cancer with better accuracy along with improving clinical decision making and quality of care.

Koios DS results can be saved to PACS for future review and analysis so patient care can improve both at the point of care delivery and over time. Koios DS pre-populates data fields in reporting systems to save valuable physician time while reducing errors.

Personal investments can be added to the Bold Brain Ventures portfolio at the investment amount initially paid by the managing partners, with no additional cost to investors, when the fund reaches its first close of $1MM, as long as all Limited Partners agree.

We are thrilled to be exhibiting for a second year at RSNA in the AI Showcase. RSNA 2019 is the Radiological Society of North America's annual meeting with 50,000+ attendees. Artificial Intelligence will play a large role in this year's conference, which will be held from December 1st-6th, 2019 at McCormick Place in Chicago. In our September newsletter, we announced an exciting new strategic partnership! Bold Brain Ventures is now a Venture Partner with the Google Cloud for Startups program. We are working closely with Google to collaborate in the Radiology AI space in the hopes that this partnership will be highly beneficial to our investors, AI companies, partners, and ultimately, the healthcare system and its patients.
