Traditionally we give thanks for family this month.
And this year is no different in this aspect. However, our traditional family may not be able to gather together, but as my Uncle Smoky used to say "Good friends are the family we chose". I have been reminded of this saying recently, by impromptu gatherings with neighbors and local friends. Often outdoors, but sometimes indoors in well ventilated areas. As the booster shots are becoming available, and more of the city is becoming vaccinated, we feel safer in getting together with "the family we choose".
I recently got to interview a neighbor about his life and his current endeavors. His name is Lucien Zayan, and he is the founder of one of my favorite art galleries on Bergen Street in Boerum Hill. Lucien is such a fixture on his block that many call him the "King of Bergen St". I like to think of Lucien as the unofficial Mayor of Bergen St. is a warm and inviting space with a lovely sculpture garden. The gallery, just like Lucien, has both humor and soul. In the height of the pandemic, Lucien had to close his doors, but made sure to support the artists in any way that he could. His kickstarter campaign, has only seven days left. While it has already been hugely successful, surpassing the original goal twice over. I urge you to check it out, give if you can-but also watch the two minute video which is simultaneously hysterical and impeccable. If you would like to see the full 27 minute interview with Lucien, you can go to our website. Otherwise it is broken up into four segments in this newsletter. Lucien also has a delightful newsletter which I highly recommend. If you would like to know more about Lucien, the Boerum Hill neighborhood, or NYC Real Estate in general, please reach out to us at TheWolfePack@Corcoran.com.
All the Best,
Lissa, Sue & Scott
