It’s Suddenly September! 2021

This month, we enjoy a return trip to my happy place before Fall sets in.

I can’t believe we are on the tip of Autumn! Where did the Summer go? Well, cozy Fall crochet projects are in my future so that still excites me.

For our beach location, we returned to my favourite place, Sauble Beach. It is a tradition that I bookend my summer by coming here - my sweet spot, my happy place. You might remember this was our very first beach location when we worked on our Sombrero Sun Top from January’s project. If you missed that one and are curious to find out more about this gorgeous and amazing beach, check out the video below.

Now for our Evening Breeze Pullover, we are using mostly single crochet stitches, so believe it or not, it is very beginner friendly!

You’ll just need to use your double crochet and front post double crochet stitches to create the ribbing around the cuffs and the collar but I know you’ll be able to do it. And don’t let the colour blocks fool you into thinking that it’s complicated either. The yarn I used did this for me! Of course, you don’t have to colour block yours and using a solid colour will work beautifully as well.

I used the Red Heart - It’s a Wrap yarn in the colour : WESTERN. It’s a cake that contains these three colours which started from a cream, to a light mocha and then into grey. I used 2 cakes for my size which was a medium/large. It’s considered a Super Fine weight 1 yarn which calls for using a 3.25 mm hook but I actually used a 5.5 mm hook to create a more breezey, breathable fabric. It’s fiber content is 50% cotton and 50% acrylic, which makes me love it even more. Perfect to wear in any weather.

My Yarn Choice

I believe you can still find this yarn at local craft stores but if you’d like to support my amazon shop, do feel free to pick up your own cakes of yarn here:

Something fun and exciting!

So I have been working on adding some extra tools for my crochet friends and I am proud to say I have published two crochet themed notebooks! They’re a perfect way to write out some inspirational design ideas and details on current projects and more. There’s nothing worse than picking up a WIP you haven’t worked on in a while and not being able to remember what hook you used or what row you left off on for a repeat. A notebook is the perfect solution!

The books are down below and the Crochet Cat notebook also has coloured, lined pages on the inside where your cute crochet cat is at the bottom of every odd numbered page for a bit of extra fun. This would make for a great little gift for yourself or a great add-on gift to any other crochet enthusiasts you may know.

And stay tuned for more elaborate crochet books coming your way veeeeeery soon. I am also working on creating a project planner! Let me know what you think I should include in it! I want to make sure these tools are helpful and practical as well as cute and fun for you. Pop me an email and let know!
