THE MONARCH

February 27, 2020
2nd Annual Spring Luncheon One Week Away!

Please join us for our 2nd Annual Spring Luncheon next Thursday, March 5th. This year, along with a keynote address from our founding Head of School, Annamarie Omanga, all of our Magnolia School students will treat our guests to a special performance of songs and poems. This is a wonderful opportunity to see your Monarch shine and support Magnolia School at the same time. To sponsor a table or purchase tickets for this event, please use the form on our website, found here
Updates from Art Class
Over the past three weeks, all of our Monarchs have been working with modeling clay in their art classes. 2nd and 3rd grade created pinch pots, etched with their original designs. 4th-7th used a technique to attach clay pieces to their unique sculptures. Once the pieces are dry, the girls will use acrylic paint to finalize their creations. Throughout the process, the girls learned how to handle and store the clay in a way that would help prevent cracking and breaking. It was a great opportunity for the girls to learn a new skill, create something beautiful, and get their hands a little dirty in the process!
Camp Bluebonnet Leadership Camp for Girls
Camp Bluebonnet seeks to motivate and challenge the participants to be young women with ideals of solidarity, leadership, and service. Inspired by the Christian understanding of the dignity of each person, the camp teaches the virtues needed to become a positive influence on family, friends, and society.

 For girls entering
5th-8th grade in the fall

Dates for Summer 2020: Sunday, July 5th - Saturday, July 11th

7th Grade Meets the Presidents through the A.D. Players

7th grade took a field trip today to see the A.D. Players production of Meet the Presidents. Seen here with playwright Robb Brunson and Magnolia history teacher Ms. Leger, the girls learned about all 45 American president, in order, in one hour! Monarchs Catherine and Roser even joined in, jumping on stage for volunteer participatory roles, much to the delight of their classmates. Following the play, the class went on a picnic to discuss the show and play outside in the beautiful weather. We hope that stories of our country's leaders will inspire our girls and encourage them to think about how they can live a life marked by both service and leadership. And who knows-- perhaps one day we will see a Magnolia School graduate in the White House!
