Magnolia Monarchs Love the Outdoors
Even in the damp Houston weather this week, it has been difficult to pull the girls away from the newest outdoor attraction at Magnolia School -- an enormous outdoor play structure! Thanks to the generosity of Texas Truck Tire, owned by Monarch parents Bob and Jackie Ruhnke, all of our girls, but particularly our youngest Monarchs (2nd and 3rd grade seen here) have enjoyed having swings, money bars, a rock wall, and a fort with a slide to play on during breaks and recess, as well as before and after school.
Flower Arrangement Workshop

Join us at Magnolia for a beautiful morning or evening of learning the art of flower arranging. Gather a few friends to enjoy time together, learn a new skill, and support Magnolia School all at the same time! Spaces are limited, so please call today, 281-786-4000, if you are interested in signing up.

Cultivating Greatness: A Purposeful Plan for Parents

We are pleased to announce a wonderful opportunity for our Magnolia School community: on Friday, January 31st at 7:00 p.m., Dr. Pat Fagan will join us to present a talk that will encourage and inspire us in our mission of raising children in truth, beauty, and freedom. Dr. Fagan will speak on "Cultivating Greatness: A Purposeful Plan for Parents."

Dr. Pat Fagan has been a grade school and college teacher, a therapist specializing in child, family and marital issues, executive director of a small think tank, a Senate staffer, the Deputy Assistant Secretary for Family and Social Policy at HHS under President George Herbert Bush, a Senior Fellow of Family and Culture at the Heritage Foundation, and founder and Director of the Marriage and Religion Research Initiative (www.MARRI.us) first at Family Research Council, now at The Catholic University of America.  The thread of continuity in all these has been a pursuit of ways to help the family thrive. He is publisher and editor of Marripedia.org, and the weekly Faith and Family Findings, and has authored over thirty synthesis papers and has commissioned from others dozens of original research projects in marriage, family, child development and religious practice.  He and his wife Theresa have eight children and thirteen grandchildren.

The evening will begin with wine and cheese at 7:00 p.m., with the talk to begin at 7:30 p.m. This evening is for adults only. Please make plans to join us and RSVP for what promises to be a wonderful evening of friendship and formation.
