6th Grade Tests Triangular Trade
Ms. Leger's 6th grade history class completed a complex simulation this week which mirrored how trade occurred during colonial times. Groups raced to devise ways to trade and cooperate to complete a seemingly simple task of brewing a cup of tea. Set up in triangles connected by string "trade routes," the girls learned how raw materials, manufactured goods, luxury items, and labor impacted the founding of our nation.
Meet a Member of the Magnolia Team

Mrs. Ola Moukarim joined the Magnolia staff this past fall as a member of our Business Office. Please join us in welcoming Mrs. Moukarim!

Originally from Lebanon, Ola graduated from the American University of Beirut with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics. She has more than 11 years of experience in both fields of banking and education. Mrs. Moukarim worked as a Foreign Exchange and Banking Operations Officer for several years. She then married and moved to Houston, and soon after started a family. Mrs. Moukarim is a proud parent of two children and enjoyed being a stay-at-home mom for a few years. She then ventured into part-time teaching in her kids’ school. In her spare time, Ola enjoys jogging, cooking, traveling and spending time with her family.
A Festive Egg Drop Competition
Our budding physicists in 5th grade held an egg drop competition, complete with Christmas flair! It was a formidable challenge to keep a raw egg intact during a fall from the roof, but our Monarchs brought their ingenuity and creativity and kept all but one of the eggs intact. Way to go, 5th grade!
