 Monarchs are "Migrating to Magnolia"
Thanks to the hard work and generosity of many members of our Magnolia School community, some of the founding students of Magnolia were able to spend last week enjoying five days of incredible summer fun. Our Monarchs spent time building friendships and community while enjoying activities such as hands-on science lessons (with special visitors, including cockroaches and snakes!), creating art projects that will grace the gardens of Magnolia School, and staying cool with water games, popsicles, and swimming. The girls, along with many of the faculty and staff members, also learned about the four virtues that will characterize the houses of Magnolia School. A wonderful time was had by all!
We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to the Linbeck family for the use of their home; Migrating to Magnolia would not have happened without their abundant generosity. Thanks also to Leslie Shofner, who graciously donated beautiful shirts and visors, which were enjoyed throughout the week by students, volunteers, and staff.
Meet a Magnolia Teacher
The faculty and staff of Magnolia School continues to grow and we are pleased to introduce Rita Hesse, who will be teaching 2nd grade.
Mrs. Hesse has been involved in Catholic education for over twenty years, both as a teacher and an administrator. She has taught preschool and technology at St. Helen Catholic School and St. Claire of Assisi Catholic School. She also spent seven years as a 3rd and 4th grade teacher at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic School. Most recently, she served as the principal at Holy Family Catholic School. Mrs. Hesse holds a bachelor’s degree from Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio, an M.B.A., and a master’s degree in education. She is currently working towards an educational doctorate from Saint Louis University. Mrs. Hesse is an early childhood through 4th grade Texas certified educator and is very excited to serve the Magnolia community during this inaugural year. During her free time, Mrs. Hesse enjoys reading, running, and spending time with her family.
