THE MONARCH

September 12, 2019
Mrs. Clancy's 3rd Grade Budding Entymologists

As part of their study of natural history, Mrs. Clancy's 3rd grade girls have been engrossed in a study of insects. They have collected specimens from the environments around their homes and brought them in to create a class collection. One Monarch said that "the bugs are creepy and cool!" We are thrilled to see our students filled with wonder from observing their world!
Polish Harvest Festival

Join the Polish community at Magnolia School's temporary home, Our Lady of Czestochowa, for their annual Polish Harvest Festival, September 20-22, 2019.

"Based on the centuries old Polish tradition of Dozynki, an end of harvest jubilee celebration, the Polish Harvest Festival here in Houston is an experience unlike anything else. We combine traditional elements with modern fun to bring you a memorable event of amazing food, drink, and entertainment. The Polish community in Houston proudly hosts this event and extends a big Polish 'welcome' to all of our Houston neighbors!"

More information can be found on their website, https://www.polishharvestfestival.org/
Volleyball in Full Swing!

Our first ever athletic season is off to a strong start with 23 6th and 7th grade girls on two volleyball teams. Last week, our Monarchs focused on learning the basics of the game, including proper positions and skills for bumping and setting the ball. This week, they are focusing on movement, team communication, spiking and serving.

The Monarchs have two scrimmages coming up at St. Cecilia’s on 9/26, 4:30 and 5:30 p.m. Come out and cheer for your Magnolia School Monarchs!
