Ey up <<First Name>>, how are you?

I start off with some positive Leeds pub news. This week I discovered that Foleys Tap House (opposite Leeds Town Hall) is currently undergoing a bit of a makeover. Owners Black Sheep Brewery are understandably keeping cards close to their chest on this, but it has been over two years since this gem has opened its doors and I for one am looking forward to the re-opening.

Foleys had a strong reputation for supporting independent breweries from across the region and beyond, so I hope Black Sheep remain sympathetic to this.

Elsewhere, I have been doing a lot of research into the history of Whitelock’s. Some of it is well known and well publicised, but there is a lot that isn’t. I will be working with the team there to see how we can share the detail of the bigger story. Of course, an abridged version is featured on my Leeds Heritage Beer Tour. Booking links are below.

This week is your last chance to vote in the March Leeds Beer Name of the Month competition. If you have not voted yet, do not forget. The link for this is also below.

In this week’s issue of Leeds Beer Shorts, dessert beers from Radiant and Ridgeside, Bini brew a saison and Northern Monk’s green beer.

Brewery Shorts

Welcome to new subscribers! This section is a news digest of happenings at Leeds-based breweries in the last 7 days. The newsletter is prepared on a Thursday, so any news that breweries release between the final draft and the email arriving in your inbox on a Friday, will be included in the next newsletter. If you want to find out more about a particular piece of news, click the word that is underlined and coloured blue. Finally, if you have seen some news online this week and it isn’t mentioned below, it means I have covered it in a previous issue, or there is not enough information for it to feature yet.

Thank you for reading this week’s edition of Leeds Beer Shorts. If you have any feedback on the newsletter, please get in touch via email (hello@leedsbeertours.co.uk), or message me on my social media accounts.

Cheers and stay safe!
