Hello!

You might be wondering what the CSPS Digital Academy team has been up in the last couple of months. We’ve been busy developing the curriculum and building partnerships. Here are some details:

Busrides.ca - Micro-learning on digital

To make a long story short, we needed an engagement platform to fulfill our mission: develop and support a digital innovation ecosystem within the public service, primarily focused on the Government of Canada. Our audience of 250,000 public servants is too big and too diverse to reach with traditional classroom training and courseware. So we built busrides.ca.

It’s called “busrides” because each episode is short (less than 15 minutes) and consumable when the user has time – like when they are commuting to work on a bus

Episode 3 will show you/tell you all there is to know about busrides.ca.
Episode 5 is built around the theme of #GCdigital.
Episode 6 focuses on the digital workplace and showcases Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada (ISED) digital transformation efforts.

We invite you to visit busrides.ca frequently, as we aim to post new content of often as every week.

Premium beta cohorts for Data and AI/ML have launched!

From left to right: Alex Benay (CIO of the Government of Canada) Sarah Paquet (Executive Vice-President at Shared Services Canada) and Julie Leese (Chief Digital Officer at Transport Canada)

Courses have started for Premium (beta) cohorts in the Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning (AI/ML) and Data streams

Premium training is the specialized tier for practitioners. Participants are chosen through departmental nomination. We call the groups “beta” cohorts because we believe in the principle of learning by doing. We intend to use the feedback from learners and teachers to iterate the curriculum continuously.

The Design beta cohort will start at the end of February, coinciding with the launch of the Solution Leaders beta cohort. Also, the call for participants in the summer session takes place later this spring; if you are a practitioner with some experience and demonstrated aptitude in a Premium stream subject, keep an eye out for the notice sent by your department.

Partnership callout

We have an ambitious mission, and we want to create solutions through partnerships with organizations that share common values. This blog post explains why partnerships are the only way to reach our objectives sustainably, as “we can’t do this alone.” If you’d like to be part of our network of specialists and experts, let us know.
