AIS-Salzburg Newsletter

Dear AIS-Salzburg Community,

After five months of experiencing empty and forlorn halls, classrooms and dormitories, I cannot express how enjoyable it is to see young people here at AIS-Salzburg again.  Although many necessary and required health-related procedures and protocols are in place, it doesn't seem to interfere significantly with classroom instruction, activities or other aspects of our summer language program.  I've also noticed that those enrolled seem very, very pleased to be back together with other young people in the classrooms; learning from teachers face-to-face and spending free time with other students from all over Europe.  Overall, our students are very happy and pleased to be able to experience an educational program that is as close to normal as possible under the circumstances.  Their faces might be covered by masks when necessary, but I can guarantee there is a big smile underneath!

We hope you enjoy this week's newsletter!

Summer Language Program Week 1 Review

Today is the end of the first week of the Summer Language Program academic schedule and we are pleased to report that things have run very smoothly as we continue to adjust to the new Corona Virus guidelines.

As students arrived on Sunday, they participated in a number of on-campus activities to help break the ice. From card games to basketball, to fun outdoor games such as capture the flag, students were able to quickly familiarize themselves with their new home and boarding mates for the next two weeks.

During the week, students enjoyed a number of after school and evening activities including a Salzburg Orientation walk, swimming at the beautiful Fuschl Lake, Canyoning in the Almbach Gorge, and a nature walk & hike of Lammerklam Gorge.  Enjoy the video slideshow below of this week's activities.
