Gymnastics for Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)

Gymnastics is not just great for physical development; it’s also a terrific way to develop and practice social skills!

“Gymnastics is for everyone!” says Psychologist Meghan Wilson. “Not only is it an opportunity to practice gymnastics skills, but a place to practice important social skills such as taking turns, asking for help, following instructions, and transitioning between activities.”

In partnership with Sport and Recreation Victoria, Gymnastics Victoria are proud to have responded to the Parliamentary Inquiry into Services for People with Autism Spectrum Disorder by providing additional professional development for our workforce, and new programs for children with Autism Spectrum conditions.
