On behalf of the PEARC22 planning committee, we are thrilled to share with you our inaugural PEARC22 newsletter! We will use this vehicle as a monthly opportunity to share news about speakers, exhibitors, conference activities, important dates and deadlines, and local happenings as we look forward to gathering for PEARC22! And, just in case you hadn’t already heard, we are planning for an in-person conference in Boston, Massachusetts from July 10-14. Hence, our theme,
Revolutionary: Computing, Connections,You.
Indeed, after a global pandemic and a two-year hiatus from an in-person conference, we are more aware of our connections than ever – connections to each other, to our communities, and to our work. During this period, you may have established a healthier, more sustainable work-life balance or renewed important connections with family and friends. Maybe you’ve established more equitable connections with your neighbors and local community, or deepened your connections with nature and the environment. Perhaps you’ve renewed or established new and fulfilling mind, body, or spirit connections that have made you a more productive, intentional, and yes, happier person. During PEARC22, we will explore many of these connections and how they intersect with our common practices and shared experiences in advanced research computing. In the meantime, we encourage you to periodically check out the PEARC22 website and mark your calendars with the important dates noted in the Call for Participation.
Finally, for now, we encourage you to join us in planning PEARC22! It takes many diverse hands to pull off a conference of this size with an all-volunteer staff! If you are interested – whether in contributing to the technical program, organizing a social or community event, serving as a student mentor or content reviewer, or planning a fun run, a local tour, or even a trivia night – we want to hear from you!
Until next month,
