The Lindleys in Papua New Guinea

November 2018

What We're Up To

It's been nearly five (5) months since we've last storied with you. Though a lot has happened in that time (imagine that!) the main purpose and reason we're here in Papua New Guinea (PNG) hasn't:

To see God's Word come to every language
and every life here in PNG.

Excited to announce we just released a brand new video, in conjunction with the amazingly talented Trostle Films, titled "Your Love Will Surely Come Find Us"*.

No matter who you are or where you are (even in PNG!), God's Love will come 'find' you. Thank you for helping to make that a possibility!

This was a video tOdd envisioned over a year ago after having attended the Kasua New Testament Bible dedication in the Southern Highlands. Everything from the concept to the content, it has been a privilege to see it come together so well. tOdd already has ideas for more videos! Smile.

Just released on November 15th, this video was viewed online over
15,000 times in its first three days! Awesome! Thank You, Lord!
A picture from this past Sunday's church service celebrating the 41 completed pieces of translated work over the past 12 months, representing 29 total languages. Everything from the full New Testament to single books (e.g. Gospel of John, etc.) to Audio Bible portions to the Jesus Film. His Love "finding" us!
For partnership: check out our Wycliffe ministry page!

Is in Grade 10 (aka Sophomore) and just recently completed a very successful girls basketball season.

She also very recently orchestrated a special dance (with 6 total dancers) for the community's annual year-end church celebration where we acknowledge and offer thanks to the Lord for the Bible translation work accomplished here in PNG during this calendar year (see picture at bottom of this message).

She continues to enjoy photography and is also part of the Choir's Vocal Ensemble this term! All in all, she enjoys being a great friend to many.

PRAYER POINT: That she'd have a great last year with her older brother "in the house" before he graduates.

Competed in guys volleyball during first term of this, his Grade 12 (aka Senior) year, where they took home 2nd place at the regional tournament. This kid can 'set' with the best of them.

In second term he competed in soccer and, overall, Drew & the team did well (Drew was voted as a team captain in both v'ball and in soccer). But, if you ask him, he's really looking forward to third term (January) when basketball begins (and where tOdd will also be coaching again this year).

Drew has narrowed his college choices down, at this point, to only schools in the state of Oregon. As he said "I already have two homes [PNG & Oregon] and I'm not interested in starting a third one". Seems reasonable to us. Smile.

PRAYER POINT: To be able to be both present in the now and also in the future (which college, big international transition next year, etc.).

tOdd & Cathy

Cathy continues to find many ways--even aside from her critical day-to-day work with students--to add value and opportunities for mutual edification within our small community. From facilitating a recent concert with a trained operatic singer friend to writing and directing the upcoming play for Christmas Eve, she adds a lot of value wherever God has her.

tOdd continues to be stretched and challenged in his role looking after our center's Auto Shop, Clinic, Guest House, Post Office, Print Shop, Store, Shipping and Teen Centre areas. Recently, too, he was tasked with coordinating our organization's annual Retirement Farewell. This year it included seven (7) PNG citizen staff who, when combined, have served 167 total years here! What an honor and treat it was to be a small part in helping these precious people to 'finish well'.

PRAYER POINT: That we'd be good stewards of both time and resources: giving our best to both our kids, to one another and to the plans the Lord has for us next as we prepare to be in Oregon from July 2019 - January 2020.

tOdd's brother & family visited us in July! Was awesome having family here for the first time! (L-R: Cathy, Tina, Chris, Sarah, Alyssa & Drew; tOdd's behind the camera)
