Inside the June amuseletter - it's a doozy!

June treated us to a barrage of exciting / ironic / unbelievable tech news stories; but equally unbelievable tech news is that we're all but ready to release Seeker.gg! Yes! Crazy.

There's a quick update on some other bits we've been doing and a look to what's in the pipe for July. Buckle up... !

Seeker.gg is coming! Seriously! Imminently!

(Probably. Hopefully.)

Seeker.gg - which has been in (re-)extended-final-final-semi-private-beta-test all month and we're done with squashing bugs so - is about to launch!

That's right - unbelievably - we look set to actually release the Squirrel!

A mere 5 months later than planned but let's not talk about that.
1st July 2019 is the date!
So get your clicking fingers ready to hit Seeker.gg!
(Please don't break it.)

June did not disappoint on the tech news front

We mused whether the announcement of Sign-in with Apple at WWDC 2019 had the potential to be the biggest development in Information Security in recent times.

We were highly amused at the irony of the
Dutch data protection authority having to report itself - to itself.

There was furore over Samsung's
handling of whether their smart televisions needed virus scanning.

And finally, the ultimate IoT Facepalm - how to '
factory reset your smart lightbulbs.'
There we have it. Lightbulbs with firmware. TVs with malware.
What a world we now live in!
And in other news...
  • CRS reporting is *nearly* done for another year - and this year we helped more clients than ever get their XMLs in order... all before the end-June deadline (- at time of writing!)
  • Both Matt and Jonny got their run on for the Guernsey Dairy Father's Day Half Marathon. Sweaty!
  • With the addition of an office bush, we may actually nearly be a proper grown-up company? Unbelievable!
  • Next month.... we welcome our digital intern to Cortex Towers - wish them luck!
  • ... and sadly, the Cortex alumni will grow one bigger :'(
That is absolutely plenty for this month!
With much love from the crew at Cortex HQ xx

P.S. Don't forget - 1st July - clicky clicky!
