May / Spring / Q2 highlights from your extra special chums at Cortex Towers.
The 'Who Are We' page on our website got a bit of a cuddle... as we welcomed CTX#5 - Matt "Danny" Champion to Cortex Towers! Read all about him and his love of Rupert the Bear.
Matt got his angry bored man on as part of an otherwise illustrious panel at the inaugural Data Warehouse 'Data Driven Guernsey' - thanks DGH for the invite!
Our cute little website Seeker.gg had a HUGE month smashing through the 1000 registered users AND ONE-HUNDRED-THOUSAND visitors in a month making it easily the most popular portal site in Guernsey... and by some margin. W00T.
And whilst we're on that, the Seeker Insights Portal continues to get bells and nobbly bits which tells us fascinating things like there has already been £180m of lending this year but approx 45% of this is against existing properties, suggesting the trend of the housing stock being scarce is forcing people to renovate and extend rather than buy. Want to know more?
CTX associate data science dev Alex 'BG' Jans becomes the latest member of the Cortex alumni, who has left us to go and rob banks. Work for a robobank. Work at Rabobonk. Not sure - anyway, cheerio Al, and thanks for all the cheese.
WTF (wow, tech finds)!
Staying well clear of the quagmire that is local social media at the moment... let's talk 3D printing. Yep, just crummy little plastic models and occasionally vital contributions to PPE during you-know-what - buuuut that is literally all you can do, right?
Did anyone get to the amazing Accidental Zoo in Guernsey last weekend? What a great attraction for Guernsey and an innovative business built out of a passion and a dream! (Although we weren't sure if putting the cow enclosure next to the burger tent was genius or a bit distasteful...)
Check out their Facebook page for future opening dates and go fondle yourself a bearded dragon.
