Don't use the C-word!

Until December. Why, what did you think we meant?
November news from Cortex.
It's been a ridonkulously busy autumn at Cortex Towers, so much so that this amuseletter is now a bi-monthly (ish) affair. We've been out and about presenting stuff, we're one in one out on the staff front and we've jumped on the Seeker development accelerator pedal!

That, and moaning about the rain. A lot.

Read on to find out more... don't worry, we won't mention the rain again.

speak now, um... then. and in the future.

The Cortexologists have been out and about over the last couple of months; we were at the inaugural Digital Greenhouse 'Future Rewired' conference - where we ran various sessions on... Blazor; the development journey behind a new app/website; and the technology behind a popular Guernsey site! It was a great day (with even better swag!) and we're already looking forward to next year!

We've also been chipping in with Global Entrepreneur Week - chipping in on a "techpreneur"'s panel. Key theme? Don't fear failure; You'll learn more if you just get stuck in!
Development of seeker.gg is back in full flow and we've already put out lots of updates - including a swishy new look and feel, including an actual logo, designed by an actual designer and everything!

Have you seen? Do you like? Drop us a note with any feedback...

We very happily welcomed Jason to the team but also very happily wished George farewell... who has gone to spend more quality time in his bedroom. Ooer.

For the diaries

The Guernsey edition of the Global Game Jam sponsored and co-organised by Cortex is coming up in January. Check out more here.

...and plans for the lunch&&code sessions going are coming along nicely which should hopefully see them kick off again in early 2020. More to follow!

tech bytes

...are harder to do on a less regular basis because most of it's out of date! So be sure to follow on twitter for more regular tech bits!

BUUUT to save you from the ubiquitous Brexit / Trump / Royal Family shenanigans... this video of a floating cruise ship dry dock ship is visually stunning but moreso absolutely mind-blowing engineering.
Phew. That'll do for now. Until next time...
xx from the team at Cortex xx
