FOR SUNDAY, MAY 31
Please join us on-line for worship on Sunday at 10:00 AM.  You can find us on Facebook or You Tube.  If you invite someone to join you, please gather responsibly.

Sunday Morning - Sermon
Our new series comes from the book of James.  This letter is filled with practical instruction based on profound doctrine.  This week, we see that a uniquely Christian response to hard times includes joy, faith, and confidence in God.  If that sounds impossible, then we need to hear God’s Word to us from James 1:1-12!

Sunday Evening
Special Congregational Meeting, 6:00 PM, on Zoom
After May 29, we expect the governor’s stay-at-home order to be lifted, and this Sunday, May 31, we will still do our morning worship by livestream.  Sunday evening at 6:00, we will have a special congregational meeting online via Zoom where Pastor Bruce will explain our plans for reopening in the weeks ahead.  Regular attendees of EFCMM will receive a separate email with a link to join this online meeting.

Giving
Thank you for your faithful giving to EFCMM during these uncertain times.  Your generosity is a gracious reminder of God's provision and care for his family, the church.  As you are able, please remember your offering, which is both an act of worship and partnership in the mission. This might be the time to try our online giving option (which you can always find on our website), but of course you can still mail us a check if you prefer.  Our mailing address is 102 S Seminary Avenue, Mt. Morris, IL  61054.

Worth a Look...

Here’s a great introduction to James:  Don’t Underestimate the New Testament’s Earliest Letter.

“James meets us in the routine moments of our day.  He meets us in our suffering, our illness, and our poverty. He confronts us in our speech, our wealth, and our pride. He instructs us when we lack the wisdom to know what to do next. James speaks into these real, daily struggles by offering short commands (more than half of the 108 verses in the letter are commands!) on how a Christian should live.”
