EFCMM & COVID-19
Easter Weekend 2020

EFCMM continues to follow state government guidelines regarding large-group gatherings through the month of April.  Please join us on-line for our Good Friday Service at 7:00 PM on Friday, and for worship on Sunday at 10:00 AM.  You can find us on Facebook or You Tube.  If you invite someone to join you, please gather responsibly.

FOR GOOD FRIDAY &
EASTER SUNDAY, 2020

Good Friday
In the first part of this brief service, we will reflect on Christ’s death for us, giving special attention to Luke 23:45, “And the curtain of the temple was torn in two.”  In Christ, forgiven sinners may now enjoy unhindered fellowship with a holy God!  In the second part of the service, we will press into this privilege of prayer, joining with other EFCA churches to seek God during the crisis of COVID-19.

Easter Sunday
In Luke 24, we come to the story of Jesus’ resurrection.  Even if you believe that it’s true, do you know why it makes any difference for you and me who live in a world where death still reigns?  Luke wants us to see that the risen Christ fulfills God’s promise to Israel and becomes God’s good news to the world, the gospel of our salvation.

Giving
Thank you for your faithful giving to EFCMM during these uncertain times.  As you are able, please remember your offering, which is both an act of worship and partnership in the mission.  This might be the time to try our online giving option (which you can always find on our website), but of course you can still mail us a check if you prefer.  Our mailing address is 102 S Seminary Avenue, Mt. Morris, IL  61054.

Missionary Spotlight...
How missionaries are responding to COVID-19

Megan Mondoka is one of our missionaries (and Bob and Bette Bloemker’s daughter) who serves with Arise Africa in Zambia.  Watch the video to hear about their preparations for the impact of the coronovirus in that country, and pray for their protection in God’s hands.

Worth a Look...

What is God doing through the coronavirus?  John Piper offers six biblical answers to that question, showing us that God is at work in this moment in history.  Crossway is making the ebook and audio book of Coronavirus and Christ available for free.

EFCMM Memories...

Memories help keep us close while we are practicing social distancing.  For Easter 2015, EFCMM hosted a Seder Service on the Thursday before Easter.  It's poignant to realize that some faces are no longer among us, but the hope of Easter is that we will be reunited with our loved ones again!

Next Week At-A-Glance

  • Servant Board Meeting:  Tuesday, April 14, 7:00 PM
  • Prayer Meeting:  Wednesday, April 15, 7:00 PM
  • Council of Elders:  Thursday, April 16, 7:00 PM
