Note - this information will not be in effect until January 2020.

Learning Objectives:

1. Understand what scores are acceptable to post 
2. Understand what formats of play are acceptable to post

Acceptable Scores

1. Play on all courses with a Course Rating/Slope Rating

2. Scores made under The Rules of Golf

3. When accompanied by at least one other person

4. When a player adopts model local rules, even when not adopted by the club. 

Example: preferred lies

Formats of Play

Authorized Formats for Posting Scores

  • Individual Stroke Play
  • Individual Par/Bogey
  • Four-Ball Stroke Play
  • Individual Match Play
  • Four-Ball Match Play

Not Authorized Formats

  • Scrambles
  • Alternate Shot/Foursomes
  • When a player plays multiple balls
  • While being coached
  • If the player was DQ’d for a breach of The Rules of Golf that provided the player with a significant advantage
