Comrades, colleagues, coadjutors,
This month we want to tell you about:
-A show we will play soon
-A project we need your help with
Sunday, Mar 1 (aka Feb 30) - Seattle, WA
5507 Farm - North Udistrict (reply to this email for the full address and/or to RSVP)
We're having a house show in honor of the Gregorian calendar LEAPing this year. Leaping is a wild and exhilarating thing to do. You get to feel brave first, then maybe a little foolish or proud once you're airborne, and finally, you're either gonna fall and hurt yourself or land...squarely where you intended or not at all. Leaping means doing something new. The show will feature us plus our good friends Dear Crow, Countercurrent, and The Spectacles for some familiar tunes AND some LEAPing out of our repertoires and banding together in new ways. Facebook event here. This year, let's leap farther!
Doors: 5:30pm. $5-20 sliding scale at the door, no one turned away.
Call for Submissions: The Antifa Kugelbook
This is the project we need your help with. Ever since our backyard kugel show this past summer, we have been stewing on the idea of making a cookbook (thanks to Margaret for nudging us about this). The cookbook will have recipes for actual food in it (eg, kugel). It will also have your instructions and stories about cooking up other types of mayhem, music, and community. Written, drawn, and collaged submissions are all on point. We want this to be a collection of little letters that we send to each other as part of the making of the revolution!
Please reply to this email with your ideas
Deadline: May 1st, 2020.
The book will be printed zine-style and sold at our shows and on Bandcamp for a sliding scale starting at the cost of printing. If we include your submission, we'll credit you in the book and send you 2 free copies.
Food ~ kugel, borsht, babka, fermentation, foraging
Activisting ~ wheatpasting, stenciling, neighborhood beautification, organizing your neighbors, organizing your workplace, direct action, lockdowns
Music ~ how to play an instrument, how to start a band, how to organize/book a show
