CCL Montana April 2021 Newsletter
Hi !

The Energy Innovation and Carbon Dividend Act has been reintroduced in the 117th Congress!

It will:

Net Zero by 2050
Reduce fossil fuel pollution by 30% in the first 5 years!

Affordable clean energy As the government makes fossil fuels slowly more expensive, and businesses will compete to provide clean energy solutions

Save 4.5 million American lives over the next 50 years by reducing pollution Americans breathe. Poor air quality is responsible for the deaths of as many as 1 in 10 Americans today.

Puts money in your pocket. The money collected from the fee is given as a monthly dividend, or ‘carbon cash back’ payment to every American to spend with no restrictions.
Most low and middle income Americans will come out financially ahead or break even.

Find out more on citizensclimatelobby.org/price-on-carbon/ or watch the CCL bill introduction webinar.

With 33 co-sponsors in its first week, this type of carbon pricing is popular with Congress, and with your help, will influence any climate legislation passed this year!

Check out the Postcards to President Biden action below, and make sure you go to CCLUSA.org/CALL to encourage Sen. Tester, Sen. Daines and Rep. Rosendale to support carbon pricing like the Energy Innovation and Carbon Dividend Act of 2021 HR 2307. You can find out more about this solution at citizensclimatelobby.org/price-on-carbon/

Happy Spring!

April Speaker

Franklin Ruff, Pastor
First Baptist Church, Stillwell, KS
The 2nd Saturday of every month, CCLers from around the world listen to a guest speaker, and hear about CCL successes and actions.
At a time when distrust and animosity between our political parties appears to be at an all-time high, we need to take a step back and find ways to work together so we can solve the big problems facing our nation. We hear this month from Rev. Franklin Ruff, pastor of the First Baptist Church in Stillwell, Kansas, who is also the Red Co-Chair of the Braver Angels Kansas City Alliance. Rev. Ruff is a conservative who says, "One of the things we can do to make [our country] better is look and see the humanity of others and to be humble." He'll talk about how to bridge differences and listen to each other to find common ground.
