Many anti-vaccine bills have been filed at the Iowa Legislature this session, and some are moving forward. SF193, a broad anti-vaccine non-discrimination bill, moved out of a subcommittee in the Senate this week, and SF125, a bill that would require changes to the medical examiner form to list recent vaccinations for infant deaths is out of the full Senate Human Resources Committee. The overall number of vaccines administered is 529,445 an increase of 20,355 since yesterday, with 266,445 receiving their first dose of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine and 131,500 receiving their second dose. Currently, IDPH has reported on the state’s coronavirus dashboard 331,623 Iowans have tested positive, up 587 from our update yesterday morning, with a total of 1,534,374 tested. 15 additional deaths were reported since our last update, bringing the total to 5,321 deaths. Now 307,596 Iowans have recovered. The total 14 day rolling average positivity rate is 7.1% the past 7-day average is 5.1%. The latest on hospitalizations, including how many patients have been admitted in the last 24 hours can be found here. There are currently 241 hospitalized patients.
